 DTG Printing

DTG or Direct To Garment printing is the modern clothing print process of printing waterbased fabric ink directly on to the garment using CMYK colours. The look of the print is very similar to screen printing but has a softer feel. Unlike screen printing the colours are not applied indvidually they are printed at the same time and are mixed to produce any colour or gradient. The machine can also print white ink which can be used as white or printed under other colours to make them more vibrant.

This results in a fantastically high quality print and maximum detail, even on complex full colour designs. Until recently, DTG printers could only print effectively onto white garments. However, thanks to advances in technology we are now able to offer DTG printing on any coloured garment, including very dark colours such as black and navy. Not only can DTG printing reproduce high quality images in more detail than screen printing, the setup costs are also considerably lower.

This is the most cost effective process for short runs as there is no setup charge or colour limit. But it still produces large vibrant prints similar to screen printing.

With Direct To Garment it is also possible to have different print locations on garments such as printing off the bottom of a t-shirt , on the side or even across the neck. We charge a small fee per garment for uncoventional locations.

To use Direct To Garment the fabric must be cotton based.

VINYL PRINTING

Vinyl printing is the process of cutting designs out of a roll of media and heat appliying them to the garment. The media comes in a wide variety of colours, textures and effects. Some of these effects include, metalics, reflective, glitter, flock, mirror, neon, denim etc. There are lots more please contact for more information. The media can be applied to most fabrics.

Using this process you are limited to 2 types of media per design we can do more but due to labor involved it may not be cost effective. Also the design cannot be too intricate as every design must be hand peeled from the roll once cut.

Organic Cotton

Organic cotton is cotton grown without pesticides or chemical additives to fertilise, relying instead on methods with less ecological impact.

Conventional cotton farming is one of agriculture's most environmentally destructive activities. It takes an enormous toll on the earth's air, water, and soil, and significantly affects the health of people living in cotton
growing areas.

A typical conventional cotton t-shirt uses about 150 grams of acutely toxic pesticides and insecticides; that's the size of a cup of sugar.

Organic farming methods benefit farmers and their communities by:

*    preventing and reducing farmer debt
*    improving food stability for farmers as a result of crop rotation
*    preventing pollution of the water table
*    preventing potential fatal pesticide poisoning of farmers and their families
*    improving and maintaining biodiversity

To achieve organic certification, only azo-free dyes are used in the dying process and all effluent is properly treated.

In addition, the traceability of organic cotton right back down the supply chain means that it is the only cotton that you can be certain is GM free.

Different levels of certification exist, but at a minimum, a crop must be grown in soil that has been chemical-free for at least three years.
